Oregonians for Nebraska Board Meeting Agenda
Saturday, November 10th
1. Call to Order. Present: John, Steve, Sandy, Chuck, Lisa, Beal, Monica
2. Approval of last meeting minutes.
3. Treasurer Report: (Chuck)
Current Balance: $4,530
- Directories - $.64/each and increasing in size
- Plan to send a check for $3k at the end of the year for the endowment
- Start thinking about what to do once we’ve finished the endowment
4. Committee Reports:
Watch Parties: (Beal)
- Beal is doing a great job, despite the team’s performance
- The Cornhole Game is a big hit, doing it prior to the game starting
- Watch parties have been great, The Refectory has done a good job!
Community Service (Sandy)
- Today was the Toy Drive – appears to be very successful, more than in past years
- Food Drive was also successful
- Success of drives may be in part to having them on different games than in past years
Endowment (Lisa)
- We still need around $4k for the endowment
- Plan to send a check for $3k at the end of the year
- We get a statement once a year
- We will investigate how the endowment funds/principal balance work
Communication:
OR4NE website update
- Steve has received everything from Garrick and is trying to get a hold of Scott who volunteered to do it
- Another person has expressed interest (Roger Parmeter)
- Steve’s been doing a great job
Strikke Designs request
- Nancy Larson (Hastings, NE) wants a link added to our website
- Has a wool scarf, jewelry
- Agree to add
5. Special Events: (Sandy)
Annual Christmas party
- 12 Couples signed up
- Lisa suggested doing the poinsettia centerpiece raffle again
- We are picking up the gratuity
- Phone tree – Thanksgiving and Dec. 7th for calls
6. Sporting Events:
- Not enough interest in a Blazer’s game
7. Participatory Sports: (Steve)
- Nothing
- 3-2 Co-ed
- Force run rule at home was a positive vote
8. New Business:
NAA Update
- New plan will be coming out with a draft soon, and asking for Chapter input
- Will have a final plan in the Spring
- Sharlette is very involved
- They have offered to help find academic speakers
- Email from Daily Nebraskan
- K-State dollar picture was in the magazine again
New merchandise update
- Waiting until next season to order the childrens’ sizes
- The “Alumni” under the “N” is deterring some people from buying the merchandise
Volunteer of the Year
- Can go to non-board members
- Add a new “spirit” or “participant award” for active non-board members
Election of new officers
- Initial email to solicit nominations with a week deadline, emphasize importance of new blood because we are on the verge of becoming a booster club, a lot of leadership vacancies
- Discussion of what it would mean to become a booster club
- Final vote on Colorado game
- Only chapter members can vote
- John will look into what happens if there is not a president
- We will accept e-mail votes, include nominees and job descriptions
