Oregonians for Nebraska Board Meeting Minutes
Saturday, July 27, 2008 10am
Shari’s Restaurant

1. Call to Order: Chuck & Sandy Mussman, Leigh Kluthe, Steve & Lisa Todd,  Roger & Angel Parmeter

2. Treasurer Report:
Current Balance: $341.38

  • This amount reflects reimbursement to Steve for all t-shirts and sweat shirts ordered from Art FX.

  • Leigh gave Lisa $60 for membership dues.

  • Out of old checks…everyone agreed new checks should be ordered with current treasurer’s address.  Lisa will take care of this.

3. Committee Reports:

Watch Parties:

  • All agreed that it was a little late to chance watch party sites at this time…will continue to look at other options for next year.

  • John has contacted Ed and will set up meeting soon. 

  • John said anyone interested in attending the meeting is welcome to join him.

  • Beal already has submitted a request for new banners.

Community Service:

  • Chuck suggested we send donation of $50 to Husker Dan’s Army again this year.  All board members present agreed.  It will be sent after the first couple of games when our bank account has been built up

Sporting Events:

  • A question came up about the East County Blackshirts semi-pro football team.  Leigh indicated that Alex was checking into an affiliation with this organization and he would ask Alex where that stands.

Special Events:

  • Picnic – scheduled for 11 AM Saturday Aug 16th.   Sandy handed out picnic assignments and also passed around signup sheet for side dishes.  She requested that board members arrive between 9:30 and 10 AM for setup and a short board meeting.

  • Steve will send out one or two more email reminders about the picnic to the Chapter members in the next week or two.

Participatory Events:

  • The spring/summer softball season ended with a disappointing 2-8 record.  Looks like there is enough interest in having both a men’s and coed team this fall.  Steve will complete team sign up during the week of July 28th.

Communications:

  • Game announcements will be put on the web site for the first three games.

  • A salute to Huskers participating in the Olympics will be added to the web site.

  • For those coming to watch parties from the Southern and Central Willamette Valley, the next few email blasts will include an invitation to carpool with Angel being the carpool contact point.

Misc.

  • Leigh and Chuck will check with Alex on status of the Red Letter Chapter paperwork.
