1. Call to Order: Lisa, Steve, John, Chuck, Sandi, Beal, Monica
2. Approval of last meeting minutes.
Sympathy note: Lisa had a very bad day yesterday.
3. Treasurer Report: (Chuck)
Current Balance: $1771.36
4. Committee Reports:
Watch Parties: (Beal)
Preparation discussion for meeting with Ed
• More smoke eaters
• Conduct a watch party satisfaction survey
• Different entrance
• Better quality/healthier food
• Cleanliness
• Poor service
• Smoking banned in restrooms
• Credit card situation
• Technical issues
• Small nails in the wall for banners with grommets
• Removing wall when the party moves into overflow banquet room
• Autographed footballs instead of barstools for prizes
General watch party
• Separate table at watch party for endowment
• Beal will be gone for the first watch party September 1st
• Divide up tubs so not only one person has them
• Divide up responsibilities so not all of it falls on Beal
• Trivia game during watch party – use raffle tickets as prizes
• OR4NE.com trivia
• Order new watch party banners with grommets
• Candles were a good touch
• Greeters
• We will purchase red table skirts
• We need an additional money box for the separate tables
USC offer for joint watch party this season
• Peter, from USC group, has contacted us about doing a joint watch party
• Football game starts at 5pm –NU/USC golf tourney would start at 1pm
Community Service (Sandy)
• 14,492 pounds of food from food drive
• John sent picture and article of us at food drive to NE magazine
Endowment (Lisa)
• Article to Kim about endowment for the newsletter
• Separate table for the endowment at the watch party
Communication:
• Continued discussion on transfer of Garrick’s responsibilities – Steve may handle the email blasts – Reno not interested at this time
• List member benefits on website
• Beal will look into adding our link to Huskerpedia.com
• Beal will ask Garrick about how much time it takes to maintain the website
• Upcoming Or4ne newsletter update – Kim has received several articles
• Update on Stadium banner project – heard back from Chris, not sure if that program will be running next year
• New logo on membership form
• Article to Kim about reaching our endowment for the newsletter
• John sent picture and article of us at food drive to NE magazine
5. Special Events:
Update on Annual Summer Picnic (Sandy)
• Steve reached someone at Huskervision that might be able to get a copy of the spring game
• Chuck’s birthday – August 18th
6. Sporting Events:
No news to report
7. Participatory Sports: (Steve)
Update on Bugeaters softball team
• 2-1 coed
• 1-2 mens’
• Double header Tuesday
• Going well
8. New Business:
• Inventory totals of current merchandise and prizes – John brought a listing
• Steve has been working with Andy and ArtFX to make new shirts with the new logo
• Steve will work on getting the new business cards
• Received a NAA retraction of initial policy for membership/recruitment goals
