Call to
Order: Present: Roger & Angel Parmeter, Chuck & Sandy Mussman,
Alex Heyen, Jennifer Scholes, John Schulling, Leigh Kluthe, Steve &
Lisa Todd, Beal Essink, Scott Spoeneman

Approval of
last meeting minutes: John will try to re-send minutes from last
meeting to Board

Treasurer
Report: $1,740.88
-
Change of signatures needed on account for new Treasure, President &
Vice-President. This will be completed on 3/22/08
-
Committee
Reports:
Watch Parties:
-Spring
Game possible at Refectory on April 19th. Start time 11:00AM. May be
picked up by NFL Network.
- Steve will
place order with Art FX for new merchandise. Will included children’s
sizes. Will
continue to use both logos on merchandise.
- Business cards
are ready and will be mailed to Steve & Lisa
- Meeting with
Ed ( Refectory) scheduled for July or Aug. Letter of Understanding
will need to be signed.
-Red Zone & Best
of Big Red catalogs have been ordered.
Community
Service:
-Oregon Food
Bank Letter Carriers Food Drive scheduled for Saturday May 10th.
Event is
scheduled from 1:30-5:30pm.
-$100.00
donation will be given to Husker Dan’s Army this fall.
Communication:
-Jennifer
Scholes has volunteered to do the newsletter. All articles for the
newsletter should be submitted to Jennifer by March 30th. Newsletters
will be sent out before the Spring Game scheduled for April 19th.
-May
meeting will include discussion on info to put on postcard to be mailed
by the University.
-KC
Kroll volunteered to make a map listing the home town of current
Alumni living in Portland and Southwest Washington. Angel will also put
this
information on web page. Alex will send file with alumni addresses to
Steve
who will get them to KC.
-Web page
getting lots of traffic. Angel will keep track of stats and will also
check into placing a calendar on web page listing OR4NE activities.
- She will also
move hosting of the web site to Roger & Angel’s server.
-It has been
suggested limiting the number of articles on front page. Angel will
only put
full
article for activities during the next month or two, then put links to
future activities.
-Scott will be
look into helping with athletic items on the web.
-It was
discussed placing advertisements in the directory and on the web. The
cost to
place an
ad would be $25.00 for each with the funds going to the endowment.
-Businesses
could also advertise by providing raffle items for endowment raffle.
Endowment:
-Waiting for
statement from Foundation as to our current balance
Sporting Events:
-Thanks to Steve
for organizing the Winter Hawks Hockey game on March 16th.
There were
18 in attendance.
-Alex will
organize the Alumni Night with the Portland Beavers. Scheduled for
Thursday
June 19th.
Participatory
Sports:
-Steve has
organized a Bugeaters co-ed softball team. Games begin around the
end of
April.. Still looking for women players.
-Softball
schedule will be sent to Angel to put on web.
-Jennifer will
look into scheduling sand volleyball this summer.
Special Events:
-Picnic –
scheduled for Saturday Aug 16th at Dabney State Park. Will check into
mailings
from the University to advertise the picnic.
