Endowment Fund Dear Oregonians for Nebraska members:
In 2003, OR4NE lost Cliff Berggren (UNL 1951), to bone cancer. Cliff was one of our original and most active members, attending functions since before this alumni chapter existed. In remembrance of Cliff, the OR4NE board voted to name the annual OR4NE scholarship in Cliff’s memory.
Cliff’s estate donated $1,000.00 to the OR4NE scholarship fund. The OR4NE board decided to use this donation as seed money for an endowment fund. The minimum amount required to establish an endowment fund is $10,000. This fund will provide an annual scholarship to someone from Oregon or southwest Washington to attend UNL for years to come.
We have set a goal to raise $10,000 in the next three years for the endowment. That amount will provide a yearly $500 scholarship without touching the endowment. Your help in reaching this goal is greatly appreciated. We hope you can find a way to help. No contribution is too small.
Thanks ahead of time for your support and GO BIG RED!!
Sincerely,
John Schulling, President Steve Todd, Past President
About
the University of Nebraska Alumni Association and the Nebraska Alumni Advisory Network
UNAA
- www.huskeralum.com Founded in 1874, the University of Nebraska
Alumni Association is now more than 125 years old. Much has changed
since the first five NU graduates established the "Associate
Alumni of the College of Literature, Science and Art," but the
association's mission remains as clear today as it was when its founders
identified it as being ". . . the advancement of the interests
of the University, whose memories and benefits they wish to perpetuate."
Our modern mission "to serve and enrich the University of Nebraska, its
alumni and its friends by attracting and retaining them through involvement with
the Association" is supported through a wide variety of programs and services.
From the maintenance of alumni biographical information and the publication of
magazines, newsletters, fliers and brochures which keep alumni informed, to the
hosting of reunion, club, college, student, career and travel activities which
foster networking and strengthen the University's academic, research and service
roles, the association offers something for everyone.
